Update from
Atoka, Tennessee for July 12, 2005

'Evening ya'll from Atoka, Tennessee!

Each and every day we seem to get deeper and deeper into the south. If you've talked to any of the Building Stones this week you may have detected a hint of a "drawl" or even a ya'll.

Work continues on the Atoka Presbyterian Church. It's amazing to see the transformation in just a few days.

It was a sunny beautiful morning and much work was started outside! Windows were prepped for paint and the ground prepped for plants. By the end of the day the plants were delivered to be planted tomorrow.

Work continues on the basement/fellowship hall. The painting is almost complete and the tile should be completed tomorrow. The kitchen went from looking like a dark dingy hole, into a brightly painted room ready for cabinets first thing tomorrow morning.

The sanctuary was a buzz with people sewing and making things for the different rooms. Also plans were made for how to upholster the pews which will also be happening tomorrow. It was also the break room, the only room with enough seats and snacks.

Pastor Ken's office is almost ready to be filled with custom built cabinets and bookcases (all built in Illinois, carted all the way to Tennessee). The attic is being transformed into a Sunday School room.

All and all, things are advancing and it's happening fast!

Please continue to pray for good weather and for safety for everyone.
