Update from
Atoka, Tennessee for July 10, 2005

Good Evening ya’ll from Atoka, Tennessee! A very full day today. This morning we all moseyed to the Walker’s for breakfast, yes, we are in the south, we mosey here. :)

Church started this morning at 9:45 with Sunday School with Pastor Ken Van Kampen. He did pick on certain people in the crowd, certain family members and a former student.
After Sunday School we had coffee and snacks, then church at 11:00. We enjoyed a service with the family of Atoka Presbyterian Church. Our 24 members really grew their numbers. We even partook of communion this morning.
After the service we had a pot luck dinner. It was great to taste so many different types of dishes and enjoy the fellowship with the people here.

Before the work could begin, church had to be prepared. All the pews were moved around and vehicles were unloaded. Two rooms were also gutted from ceiling to floor in preparation for new ceiling and floors on Monday. Many plans were made today and ideas come to reality.

This evening more southern hospitality, a craft for the ladies, cards and relaxing for the men. We are looking forward to our first full day of work and seeing the church begin it’s transformation.

Please continue to pray for good weather and bearable temperatures.
