Update - August 15, 2004

Update from
Napa, California for
August 5, 2004

Today was a day of work for some and play for others.

Of the 18 Building Stones, 11 decided to make the field trip to San Francisco and 7 stayed behind to continue the work on Valley Community Church.

Seven Building Stones stayed behind today to advance the work at VCC.

Work continued in the sanctuary on the stage. All the framing is complete and the floor is almost completed sheeted with plywood. The wiring for the sound system is almost completely installed.

The kitchen is back together, minus the drawer fronts and cabinet doors. Tomorrow the fronts should arrive and we can attack them with some paint and put them up. A new refrigerator also arrived today. Now things can actually stay cold.

The women’s washroom was given its final coat of paint today. The vanity and mirror were installed and it’s almost ready to use.

All the plants arrived today and were planted. The front of church looks beautiful and inviting now. Those guys (from VCC) worked very hard and it shows.

The crew that went to San Francisco enjoyed a ferry ride into town. Everyone went their own separate way. Some when on a boat cruise around the bay, went looking in shops, enjoyed a world famous hot fudge sundae from Ghirardelli (for lunch), toured old ships at the shore, and just about anything else in San Francisco. (Which is just about everything you can imagine.) A few folks even took a cable car ride!

After a day of fun and work, it’s a full day of work tomorrow for everyone.
