Ministry of Greeting

We hope you've noticed some "welcoming" changes to the greeting program at Calvin Church. The greeting teams have formed, the vision for the kind of atmosphere we want to create has been established, and the spirit of kindness and warmth is ready to be shared.
What kind of changes might you see? You'll notice that hosts will be at several entrances-the front door, the parking lot entrance, and the side door. A smiling face will be holding the doors open, welcoming your arrival. Should the weather be inclement, an escort under a large umbrella will help keep you dry. Hosts will be wearing easy-to-read name tags, and will have a few bulletins on hand should you need one. Guests to Calvin Church may receive a Welcome Folder which will provide lots of information about the programs of Calvin Church as well as a welcome letter from Pastor Phil. There is also new signage with large, clear lettering guiding you to where you want to be!

Most importantly, our new greeting teams know the kind of experience we want our guests, as well as the members of Calvin Church to have ...one of warmth and acceptance, a church home that provides a "safe" environment for people to see, know, and follow Christ.

It is our hope that everyone at Calvin Church will be recipients of what we believe to be positive and authentic changes. Let us know what you think. Have suggestions for improvement? Really like how something is being done? Want to be a part of this ministry? Talk to one of the Team Leaders: Chuck & Marlene Swiney, John & Joan Swaagman, Carol Overzet, Jean DeVries, or Dan Vree.

Let's make the word "friendly" a powerful action verb at Calvin Church.
