Calvin Church: Deep Roots, New Branches

Calvin Church has a rich heritage with deep roots in the historic, Christian faith. Our local church is part of the Protestant branch of Christianity and is associated with the Christian Reformed Church family in North America.

Why that name?

CALVIN - We are named for John Calvin,17th century Reformational theologian. He believed that every day life and relgion were not separate aspects of life, but that your life reflects your beliefs, as we all live in relationship with God.

CHRISTIAN - We believe that salvation is possible only with faith in the redeeming death of Christ, paying the debt of my sins, dying in my place. We find fulfilling and lasting life in his grateful service.

REFORMED - We are descended from the historical Reformation. We believe as saved sinners, we should live a life honoring the God who provides our salvation. Out of gratitude our lives are continually "reformed", shaped and tested by His words found in the the Bible, which calls us to serve Him in all ways and in all of life.

CHURCH - We belong to the body of believers in Christ's soul saving death and resurrection. Jesus as the head of that body and by mutual support and shared community, we share His love and Good News with all.

It's because Calvin Church has deep roots that we also have new branches. Our goal is to be a local church that's always growing more, serving more, and making more connections with God and others. Because of our deep roots and new branches, you can be sure that Calvin Church will be around to provide stability in a fast-changing world.
