History of Calvin Christian Reformed Church

Calvin Church in Oak Lawn began our ministry all the way back in the year 1887 when Calvin Church (then 1st Christian Reformed Church of Englewood) started out as a fledgling church in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago.

Meeting the spiritual needs of a rapidly growing Dutch community, the church grew rapidly and flourished there for 76 years!

In 1963, we moved to our current location at 101st & Central in Oak Lawn. Since then we've been privileged to meet the spiritual needs of many residents of Oak Lawn and the surrounding areas.

We've been around a long time but that doesn't mean we're stuck in the past! Calvin Church is more interested than ever in investing in the lives of families in the community and making the Oak Lawn area an even better place to live in the future.

We've been starting new ministries and making changes in order to better serve the spiritual needs of our community. We're proud to have served the Lord for so many years!
